Financial Aid and Scholarships


Financial Aid

 

            The University of California has a strong financial aid program.  At UC Davis, the Financial Aid Office provides financial assistance in the form of scholarships, loans, grants and work-study employment.  Each year, approximately 44 percent of the undergraduates at the University receive some form of financial aid. 

            Financial aid, including many scholarships, is awarded on the basis of need, after a careful review of the student’s resources.  For further information, contact the Financial Aid Office, Dutton Hall, University of California, One Shields Avenue, Davis, CA 95616, or phone (916)752-2390.

 

Scholarships, Awards and Prizes

 

            The Department of Food Science and Technology offers may scholarships, prizes and awards to students in the Food Science majors.  Selections are made on the basis of leadership, participation in departmental activities, interest in specific areas within the undergraduate majors, in addition to academic performance.  For more information contact the departmental Advising Office.   

            The UC Davis Scholarship Office also provides general scholarships to students based on academic achievement on promise, and some are also based on financial need.  These scholarships require a minimum Grade Point Average of 3.25.  Some University scholarships are limited to students who meet special requirements such as graduation from a specific high school, residence in a certain geographical area, interest in specific food commodities, or enrollment in a particular major.  For more information on University scholarships, contact the Scholarship Office, Room 228 Dutton Hall or phone (530) 752-2804.
