Duties
Margaret performs original research in Dr. Chet Price’s laboratory, where they study how bacteria survive under stressful environmental conditions. This research involves designing and interpreting experiments using techniques from microbiology, molecular biology, genetics and biochemistry. In addition, Margaret assists in the preparation of manuscripts for publication in scientific journals. She also trains and advises other lab personnel in the areas of research and lab safety. Finally, she acts as the laboratory manager, maintaining the laboratory licenses to use radioactive, biological, and chemical agents.
