John Krochta Receives the 2007 Clara Award

On June 13, 2007, Professor John Krochta was awarded the 2007 Clara Award.  The Clara award is the departmental citizen award that is given annually.  It is presented in recognition of enthusiasm, dedication and selfless contributions to our department and its programs and for practicing the humanitarian qualities exemplified by Clara Robison.  (Clara is a former employee of the department.)  One of the nomination paragraphs written about John says it all!

"He is selfless in his contributions - in addition to being one of our most popular teachers and researchers, he has also done wonderful things for the department through the Teaching Committee and his commitment to the safety program. Whether it's playing the keyboard at holiday functions or through his sheer sociability, John is one of the more human faces of FST. Indeed, I reckon he is probably one of the three nicest men on the planet."
