Herbert Stone - CA&ES Award of Distinction
Herbert Stone is honored with the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Alumni Award of Distinction.
Food Science and Technology alumnus Herbert Stone has been selected to receive the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Award of Distinction in the alumni category. As an alumnus, Herbert has truly brought recognition to UC Davis through his leadership in the field of food science and sensory evaluation. He is co-founder of Tragon, a sensory evaluation company and is active in volunteer leadership positions in the industry. Among many other positions held, he is the immediate past president (2004-2005) of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT).
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Herbert is also gives back to UC Davis. He currently serves as president of our Food Science Leadership Board providing strategic guidance and fundraising support to department chair Charlie Bamforth and coordinated a family gift to support the construction of the Anheuser-Busch Brewing and Food Science Laboratory.
