Have You Herd? Our Udderly Fantastic Chair Is A Milk Dud!

It was “just an udder day” here at UC Davis when Charlie Bamforth, the Anheuser-Busch Endowed Professor and Chair of the Food Science Department took part in a cow-milking contest held on campus as part of the activities leading up to Picnic Day 2007.  As only a mad cow would pass up such an opportunity, Dr. Bamforth participated in the contest alongside other notable people from the Davis community.  Attempting to set himself apart from such a herd, Dr. Bamforth mooo-ved over to Norma the Cow.  After a valiant attempt however, the judges cowculated that he had only milked enough to put him in second-to-last place.  Though he could have done 'butter', we still think he’s the cream of the crop and a shining example for future department chairs to "emmoooolate!"
