Clara Award 2006
Jamie Brannan and Michelle Danyluk are recipients of the 2006 Clara Award
Each year, a member (or two!) of the Food Science and Technology Department are given The Clara Award. The award is named after retired staff member, Clara Robison, and is awarded to people who give selflessly to the department.
The nomination for Jamie Brannan included statements like:
- She is never one to say, "That's not my job..."
- She is great at seeing the big picture and understanding how one action will impact another.
Like Clara, she is giving and unselfish and does not have an ego that interferes with doing her job effectively.
Often the folks who are the most public in their deeds are recognized while the folks quietly working in the background go unnoticed. I think this is the case for our very own quiet superstar, Ms. Jamie Brannan.
Jamie is a dream of an employee and a deserving recipient of the Clara Award for outstanding citizenship!
The nomination for Michelle Danyluk included statements like:
- Michelle possesses the qualities that are described in the Clara Award. For a graduate student she has put in many extra hours in the food tech club and on other committees that have represented the department on campus, nationally and internationally.
- Considered a go-to person by undergraduates and graduate students in the department.
- She is always there when needed and when she can't be there, she finds some other way to help.
- She has worked tirelessly to get the Food Tech Club and FSGSA to work together. This has paid off. The Food Tech Club has made the finals for IFTSA Chapter of the Year for the past three years. She even volunteered to make the poster for the IFTSA Meeting in Orlando.
The Food Science and Technology department is deeply grateful to both Michelle and Jamie for all that they do! Be sure to check out the online photo album for all the photos for the fun reception held in their honor.
